Bintangnya Mana?

Turkey nightscape. Taken by Tunc Tezel (via twanight).

Makin malam, makin banyak kerlipan bintang. Gue senang.

Saking sukanya gue ngeliat langit malam, bahkan waktu diklat malam, gue masih sempet curi-curi melongok ke atas (maaf ya komandan). Waktu kumpul di Lap. Sipil, gue sempet ngeliat ke atas. Langitnya ceraaaah banget.

The World Largest Illuminated Facade.

It only takes two minutes of your time to watch this video and realize that sometimes we do need to turn off the lights.

Tapi udah sampe diklat terpusat, masa sih berhenti sampe situ aja, sayang ah. Lanjut deh sampe diklat divisi.

Tapi kenapa pilih taplok? Excited. Penasaran.

Pas OSKM, gue belom fasih sama daerah kampus. Emang sih gue udah sempat ikut kegiatan matrikulasi fakultas sekitar sebulan, tapi tetep aja masih belom kenal banget gue sama kampus.

Nggak salah kalau dibilang taplok adalah keluarga pertama maba, because they really behaved as our own family. Tiap malem ngecek kita udah sampe kos apa belom, sakit apa enggak.

*jeng jeng jeng* massa kampus. He eh.

Dipimpin moderator, forum dibuka.

"DUA RIBU DUA BELAS. TUTUP MATA. TUTUP TELINGA.

"TERUS KALO UDAH JADI MAHASISWA, MAU NGAPAIN?"
"KALIAN TAU GAKSIH HARGA TAHU TEMPE SEKARANG BERAPA?!"

Bagus. Banget. Ketika kita menyanyikan kembali lagu Mentari, bersama-sama meneriakkan salam kebanggaan kami, Salam Ganesha, hingga akhirnya panitia menerbangkan ratusan lampion yang indah di belakang kami. Gue nangis.

Status gue sekarang mahasiswa tingkat dua, calon taplok. Yang seharusnya mengajarkan, bukan diajarkan. Yang seharusnya menggugah, yang seharusnya menginspirasi. Yah semoga ini gak sekedar wacana gue aja ya...

All Fake Foes?

I've been spending the night by looking at my old trip photos during high school... while repeating Lydia Paek's cover featuring Tablo of Justin Timberlake's Suit & Tie since... two hours ago? Both versions are nice, but I really like Tablo's own verse.

Get out your tuxes.
We're what the fuss is all about.
Got haters on our speed dial.
We call em out.

...

Started from the bottom, broke as hell.

...

All fake foes.
If you're real, then you're real like a mermaid's toes.
Frankly, in my ocean all you octopussies better swim good.

There. Do you possess something fake? Anything? Some purses, wallets, shoes, watches.... Friends? Or foes? I've been lingering around, living in this world for almost 18 years, got so many things, many friends, yet I still can't define which is real, which is fake. Friend. Or foes.

Or, have you ever disliked someone but you don't know why? Sometimes you just.. feel it. If it feels wrong, then there must be something wrong. Sometimes you just know. Sometimes there are some reasons, sometimes there's no any. Because sometimes you don't need to have a single reason to dislike someone, because simply you just can't describe how you feel. Or at least, that was what my friend explained to me.

I personally never define someone as a fake friend, but yes I have some who I dislike. But never at the first sight, or from the first impression. I mean how could you dislike someone without knowing him/her quite well first? But it turned out that it's possible... even there's the scientific explanation for that! Or at least, again, that was what my friend told to me. So she said there's this certain chemical substance inside our body (called pheromones, I guess) which has its own compatible match. So then, if ours don't match with someone's, we could have this 'dislike' feels toward them. This is what actually works within our relationships; with our good cliques, boyfriend/girlfriend, wife/husband, enemies, etc. I conclude that it's... possible, but it's all up to us. Maybe our pheromones don't match, so what? Let's make it a match! If, we want to. If, we want to be forever in peace with everything, anywhere and anytime.

Anyhow, I'm grateful that so far I've been surrounded by lovely people and friends, who know me well, who would like to know me first before judging me. Thank you for not being fake. There are some dramas (both important and not) in my life, but that's it. Everyone must have their own drama.. I mean what's life without it? I'm forever grateful that I have some good friends, best friends, who always there for me whenever and wherever I need them. Who have been through the thick and thin of my life along with me. I'm grateful that I've been through some rows, because those show me that sometimes I'm wrong, flawed. That sometimes I need to remind some people that they're, also, wrong, flawed. Show me that life is not all bubbly and happy, and sometimes I just need to face some difficult people in difficult situations.

It's holiday and I just miss my old friends, that's all. I wouldn't miss them this much if we have the same holiday schedule as them but the fact is my campus is the only one which has been in the holiday time already SOOOOO basically we're alone. If only I have a time machine... I would go back to those wonderful times in Magelang, being all silly and happy with my junior high friends. I would go back to those fantastic times in Tanjung Lesung, Thailand, Anyer... Ugh :'(

I miss you guys, and this is true.

Libur?

I thought I'd have have three-months (or at least two-months) long holiday, but now I barely even have a month. Three weeks top.

Apa itu libur. Gak kenal. (Sejak masuk kuliah)

The short story is, because I want to take Industrial Engineering (TI) major, I need to take a short-course (sp) during June-July. This sp only needs to be taken by whoever wants to take TI or Management Engineering (MRI) because there are some changes in the syllabus.

A small sacrifice at the beginning of my journey to achieve my dreams. (tsah) Rasanya kayak mau teriak oh why please just give me some breaks, tapi terus ya abis gue teriak dan marah-marah sp nya gak akan hilang. Yang lucu adalah, beberapa wacana pindah jurusan muncul di kalangan kawan-kawan gue :) Some are just being sarcastic, but I heard some (only a few, though) are serious about it.

Masih punya that so-called 'holiday'.

Tapi ternyata, hitungan kita malah kayak gini.

Tahun pertama: diklat OSKM (dan sp)
Tahun kedua: mungkin, jadi pengurus kegiatan matrikulasi murid baru
Tahun ketiga: kerja praktek
Tahun keempat: insya Allah udah lulus.

Tapi ya apalah arti libur tiga bulan kalo jadi nggak produktif. Semangat ajadeeeeeeee.

On a side note, nggak kerasa udah mau ada penerimaan murid baru aja sebentar lagi.

Padahal rasanya baru diospek macem gini.....

OSKM ITB 2012. I was at the upper arc of the letter B!

Closing OSKM ITB 2012. This moment was so beautiful, I was literally shedding tears.

......eh sekarang mau ngospek.
Time flies so fast, eh?

Ujian?

Assalamualaikum. My dear blog sorry I haven't updated for a very long time!

Makan kan udah jadi rutinitas, jadi ya ujian kalo udah rutin jadinya kayak makan.

Makan tuh ujian.

Oke engga kok enggak.

Nah, iya lama-lama bakal biasa aja. Tapi awalnya....

Eng ing eng tiba-tiba udah semester dua. (CEPET BANGET LOH YA AMPUN). Parah parah parah kilat banget!

And it's good; it's not stressful! I live my life here happier.

Oiya sekarang gue udah selesai kuliah semester dua loh, cepet banget ya. Tapi berarti bentar lagi pisah sama temen-temen, penjurusan :" Haha masalah penjurusan masalah lain lagi deh buat anak TPB, galau teroooosssss. Semoga kita semua diberikan yang terbaik deh ya, amin.

Kelompok RBL <3 br="">

I Am Mugler

Big Bang's leader, G-Dragon, has worked together with Nicola Formichetti (also known as Lady Gaga's stylist) to produce a runway music for Mugler's fashion show couple days ago in Paris Fashion Week. Here is the clip.

I'm just going to be honest here. (I was also being honest in Tumblr about it, but that's more like me ranting about stuffs(?) and it's so rambly and not to the point and could be misinterpreted. This is why I still stick to this blog for writing purpose because I write things nicer and more organized here, don't know why.)

Bad things first. To be honest the lyrics is just meh. I'm sorry as much as I adore him, I can't let it pass, and I can't take this song seriously (or maybe it's supposedly not to be taken seriously, but save it for later talks). Unfortunately, this is not for my likings. This is too strong for me. When I said it to someone last night on Tumblr, she's surprised that I thought that way. So I categorized myself as a minor since I guess there are a lot of people who think that's not too strong or strange.

As a girl who's raised in a rather conserved society, I do think that is too strong. When I first listened to it I was shocked, but then laughing like crazy. I mean that whispers?! Seriously GD you whisper?! I couldn't get the exact things that he said in that song at the first time so I repeated it, and I was like 'okay wow oppa wow'. And I was thinking "Did I just hear f*ck?" "Is that WOOSH or PUSS". And I thought I had hearing problems but I didn't. I looked at the exact lyrics and that 'wow' feeling turned into 'WOW'.

It's just... it's too explicit. Like the whole song is full of "f*ck yo I don't give a sh*t". I know that it's rather considered as 'normal' considering the fact that it's for runway show where manners is definitely not something to be cared about in the first place. Listening to it is one thing, I can let it go, but when it's written... suddenly that kind of turning alive. Like, it's screaming to your face. There is this huge different between putting some curse words to a song and putting curse words as a whole song. And it's very uncomfortable for me to read it. And I know there are a lot of explicit western songs being promoted and I'm not fond of them either. That's just not for my likings.

I'm also quite disappointed, because I finally found something that I really, really dislike from GD, which is this song. Meh. But me saying this, doesn't mean that I hate him or what. I know that it's for fashion show, not for his promotion or Big Bang. I know he would NEVER release something like this in Korea or Japan or wheresoever for promotion purpose. But to be honest, I was kind of worried about /public/ reaction about this, because although this is not meant for public, they must be knowing this. I was afraid that it's like some free baits for people (specifically haters) being harsh to him again. But he himself said that he didn't give a f*ck, so why should I. And I don't judge him based on this lyrics because aside from the purpose of this song, he's already well known as a naughty naughty and then so what. His parents are so proud of him, so who am I to judge?

And then the good things! I must admit that, although I think it's weird, I like the beat, this is the kind of beat that makes you nodding your head! This is like, G-Dragon style. And I admit that I was feeling so proud when it's being shown:

Yeah. G-Dragon is not your little idol. He's out of your reach.

I admit that this song fits the show perfectly. Like, it represents Mugler so well. It means that he knew who's the client, what were they up to. And he successfully gave them a song that match the collections of Mugler. He satisified his clients. I praise him for this! And yes, because this is for fashion show only, I don't think it's for to be taken seriously. I mean, not for your daily song. And the lyrics is not something to be over analyzed hahah.

And I want to say that as die-hard you are as a fan, it's okay to dislike something from your idols. Dislike the song doesn't mean you also dislike anything else. By being a fan, it doesn't mean you have to like everything come from them and see them as gold, or blindly follow everything they do. In this case, whether it's for fashion show only, if some don't like it, then let them be. There's no need to continuously tell them that "It's for fashion show!" or "Do you expect love songs for runway?" or things like that. No need to force them to like it.

And some people say that he's going too far. That he's trying so hard not to becoming 'your only little idol star'. To be honest I do think that he's maybe trying too hard. Or maybe it's just because I don't like this kind of stuff. And again this song is only a fashion song so maybe he's not trying to do anything at all and it's just me who take it too far.

In conclusion, I dislike the song (the lyrics to be exact, I don't even dare to reblog it) but also am feeling so damn proud of him. Fashion show is a big thing, you know, and he just raised his standard way above anyone else in the industry.

Anyway, GD is currently in London and no one knows exactly what's he doing there. Like a ninja.

Jakarta is Paralyzed

Hello. Four days until school start and I'm worried I'd be stuck in Jakarta. It's rainy season in Indonesia. Rain is good, really. I love rain. But it seems like rain doesn't love... my city. (Rain loves me since there's no floods anywhere around my house)

Heavy rain started pouring down since last week. But the peak is today. The rain started falling at around 4 am in the morning (WIB) and it's already a heavy one from the start. I just slept by 1 am and at around 4, when the rain started, I got awaken by the water splash... Yes, rainwater splash. The platform of my room got leaked so the rainwater sipped through it... Confused, I could only grab a plastic medium-sized ware and went to the living room and continued my sleep in the sofa. Few hours later, I woke up, checked my room and it turned out that my nanny replaced the plastic ware with two huge plastic buckets, and one of them were already half-filled! Wow! If she didn't put them there, by noon my room would be flooded.

At around 6 am, I've already awaken. The rain's still falling, the thunder's no joke. My nanny and driver accompanied my brother to school, so I was alone. But I was still veeeery sleepy so I slept again in the sofa. And then one hour later, my nanny woke me up and half-telling-half-scolding me that my parent's room's platform also got leaked. She thought I was sleeping there, and because it's leaked I moved to the sofa, so she scolded me because I didn't put anything to patch the rainwater. But I didn't know! So it turned out that the rain was falling even heavier... and if she didn't put a huge plastic bucket there, my room's parent would definitely be flooded too.

This morning was so cold. Like, really really cold. It's as cold as Bandung! At 11 am, it looked like it's 6 pm outside. The rain kept falling and truthfully I was worried there would be another blackout. I hate blackout. So I watched the news, and... wow. Floods everywhere. Like, everywhere. I cannot describe in words how awful the situations are, so here are the pictures. I'm very sorry for my beloved city, Jakarta.

There are a lot more pictures of today's floods. Some are funny, like, really funny because some people were enjoying the floods (like these two foreigners who's willing to pay $20 for kids rubber rings), some are shocking because the flooding is no joke (like this mini tsunami in UOB Plaza's basement), and some are tragic and sad... because this floods is truly a major disaster for a lot of families. For another updates and pictures, you can go to Kartu Pos twitter account (@KartuPos) and this blog (someone compiles the floods pictures here) Jakarta Bocor (jakartabocor.tumblr.com). I took the pictures above from these sources.

I live in West Jakarta. The area around my house residence is not affected very much, there's no floods. But, most of the the protocol roads near my house are badly flooded. Jl. S. Parman, Kebon Jeruk highway, Jl. Thamrin... It's so sad looking at the pictures because it looks like they're no longer roads, they're more like dirty pools. Not to mention the condition in some schools and universities in Jakarta. Trisakti University, Tarumanegara University, Atma Jaya University, SMAN 8, SMAN 60... they're more like dirty lakes right now. Floods is not something new for Jakartans. In fact, there is this massive-flood-cycle-every-five-years thing in Jakarta. It's not something new, so that's why we're damned tired of it. How can you live in Jakarta, in every rainy season, without having the fear of your house being flooded? Floods in the house is one thing, but you can't go anywhere because the roads are blocked due to the floods is another thing. And it's not only the floods that is being worried about. The aftermath...? If the victims of floods are not being treated well, they could get some diseases, and that make things getting worse. The victims now need help. From foods, clean water, clothes, medicines, blankets, and anything else. One of many ways to help, you can donate via this site http://bantujakarta.sinergimuda.org/. Any kind of donation is helpful!

This city needs some changes. Changes from every single Jakarta citizens. Don't make it as one man's responsibility: the governor (or two, with the vice governor). How can some people just straightly put the blame on them? It's better to see them as our partners so together, we can think of ways to handle and prevent this. Truthfully, I like Jokowi and Ahok. I have so much respect for them, although honestly I kinda doubted them previously... since Jokowi is not Jakarta citizen, originally. But they proved me wrong. I'm glad that so far they've done many good things (like the new year eve's festive, public hearing about the 6-new-highways plan.. I mean, have we ever had one kind of public hearing?! Because I haven't heard any other than this. Someone could enlighten me?). And I hope they can do better in handling this lovely but problematic city.

Jakarta's governor, Jokowi, stated that Jakarta is under emergency status following this massive floods until January 27th. It's not raining now. The rain has stopped, the floods are lessened gradually... But we need to be ready every time. We're all hoping that there wouldn't be any heavy rain later tonight since the situation is not stable yet. Amin.

Melancholy

Physically, people have been telling me that I'm not changing a bit. Mentally, they've been telling me that I'm more mature than I should be. Really? Haha I don't think that I'm already mature at all, but I'm also not that kiddie. I should agree with their opinions about my appearances but I'm not feeling the same way for the latter. Instead of mature, I guess thoughtful is more appropriate? Or considerate... Since I often over-think about all stuff. Like seriously, all stuff. Even to some minor details that people might reject or forget about them easily while in my sense, it's a major problem. This over-thinking reaction somehow gets me to a panic behavior. Thus, I'm also known as a panicky. Or lebay, they often say. And people who say this are the ones who tell me that I'm too mature for my age. Ha. Seriously. A panicky is far from a mature, to be honest

Anyway, that's just some random thought. Unimportant, actually, but this thought have been running in my head since I've met some old friends recently and they keep saying those stuff and since I'm thoughtful so-- Well, yeah.

So. Move to a different subject, that in some ways, also leads me to that random thought about myself.

Since I'm a big fan of this idol group, calling themselves Big Bang, I'm practically a fangirl. Who squeals every time she sees her bias acting cute -or with Choi Seunghyun, acting manly and gentle is more accurate-, who stays up till midnight waiting for the new music videos come out. I thought I wouldn't have time to do these again since I'm so busy with all tasks and exams, but it turns out that I still have it. (Well, at least for the time being. Not sure for several years later after I already take a specific major.)

I'm becoming someone that I never though I'd ever be. Cliche, but it's true. I'd never thought that I'd becoming a fangirl of boy band. Even more, a Korean boy band. I've never liked any specific kind of musics or bands or artists before, but now I have. I know that my likings are so diverse, but I'd never imagined myself fell to this world hahah. I'd never asked any gifts in the form of ticket's concert, but the last gift I got was a Big Bang Alive Tour ticket. I'd never asked my Dad to buy a music CD, but when my Dad went to Korea this year, I straightly asked him to buy Alive CD for me. Haha I feel like it's a drastic change for me.

But hey, it doesn't mean that I'm fulfilling my happiness in fangirling way only. Of course not. In matter of fact I'm so bored lately that I'm in thirst of reading some good books. Like the serious kind of books like Dan Brown's /forever waiting his next book to be released/. Or a sweet, full of romance materials like Sophie Kinsella's or Sitta Karina's or Ilana Tan's. Or just a simple comedy genre which is mastered by Raditya Dika. I miss spending my me-time for reading all day long that I even forget to eat or even sleep. Or I should say, I miss having my me-time.

Despite my lacking of time for searching some good books, I always have time to watch TV. Because in my room at dorm, TV is my best friend. Whenever I get sick with those heavy books and note, I turn into my TV and watch everything Star World airs. (Ok specifically, Star World is my ultimate best friend). Sounds sad? That my life is fulfilled by these non-alive stuff? Hahah. Well, of course I need someone alive to please me, but who doesn't get sick, once in awhile, being around people.

Ok it's getting more random haha. But yes, actually I'm currently in such... indescribable mood tonight. After reading a super sweet, flawless fanfiction, and watching Greek season 2, I suddenly have this melancholy feelings hahah. About this and that, about stuff... But the highlight is the episode of Greek season 2 I watched tonight. I mean, the end of this episode is just so sweet I can only squeal on the couch.

So the point is, there is this character on Greek named Max Tyler. He is incredibly genius, he's worked for NASA, he's so loyal to his girlfriend and he'd do anything, like ANYTHING, for his girlfriend. He's like everything that every girls and every parents want. He's like a complete package that is ready to be delivered and every girl's door are always open for it. He's a fictional character that is so rare to be found in alive state on Earth right now and I just can dream of having someone like him. I want to have someone like Max in my life. But then, I thought, maybe the feelings of wanting Max is just another lame denial of my heart that deep down I might love someone -not too long time ago, but I'm sorry for myself that I keep finding the flaws on him. And the perfection of Max Tyler just adds another lame reasons to my lame reasons list of why I shouldn't fall for this guy. Oh yes this is a confession, guys. But, never mind.

Hahah well, that part of 'wanting Max Tyler in my life' is not completely true. I mean come on I'm not that delusional. BUT if there is any guy wandering around and he just behaved like Max Tyler then it's a bless. For me. :p

And yeah, this thought about Max, about him, somehow leads me to recall the memories from the past, the feelings I used to have towards somebody else, which leads me to another thing which is unrelated to this feelings, which I've written above lol. What a pointless post you've written here, Rizk. But at least, I confessed. (Yes true I've been itching to straightly tell it lol!)

Here, have some Max Tyler in your dream.

Grow Up

Because everything won't be so easy, as easy as it seems.

Practically, being a college student means living on my own. Transition from teenager to adult. If I'm sick, I'm sick alone. Hungry? My own problem since no one is there to cook me food. Rain season is suddenly becoming my first world's problem. Walking, running under the rain is unavoidable, and shiver comes later. (Not to mention, the time taken to dry my clothes is getting longer. Please.)

Meanwhile, academically, deadline is becoming the worst nightmare. Or should I say, real-life nightmare, since I don't just dream about it. The last week of college has been pretty hectic for us, with all final tasks deadlines and exams came consecutively. I relied on my power of kepepet. This is not so me, to be honest. Now I'm like, oh okay whatever with the results as long as it's finished on time, and I used to be more... perfectionist. The lectures are becoming harder, harder, and harder. I was struggling for a while to adjust with this fast pace of learning in class. When I'm already getting used to it, then I feel like my life is 80% of studying, studying, and studying.

It may sounds like I'm complaining, complaining, complaining. But no. I'm so grateful that I'm getting what I've really wanted so bad. Alhamdulillah.  It's just me ranting about how different my life is in college. How difficult it was for me, at first, to be around genius people all day. I've been telling it multiple time, but yeah, I miss the old time. As busy as I was, as bad as my grades were, I've never felt such a big pressure like I sometime feel recently. I miss high school so much. I miss wasting my time in inter lounge, watching random horror movies or Running Man in class, chatting with my teachers, jumping to someone's car and get away from school to TA or CP. Oh, exciting time.

But that is life... right? I am aging, so everything also changes. I'm growing up, so everything also seems becoming more serious to me. Somehow, I feel like another factor why I miss the old time so much is the fact that now I can't joke around as free as I used to do. No more irresponsible me. No more stupid dramas between me and people. This is unavoidable condition that I must go through.. no matter how difficult it is.

Oh, college life. In a speed of light, I'd becoming a career woman, then a wife, then a mother, though. (AMIN)

Oh, time.

If Happy Ever After Did Exist

Yes, that's a line from Maroon 5's Payphone. Although I'm so into Kpop right now, I'm still enjoying Maroon's 5 latest album Overexposed. I reeeeaaaally like Payphone, I'm jamming to it all day but too bad I don't really like the rap parts.

Anyway, I'm having some... issues right now. About this and that. I cannot tell precisely what kind of problems that I'm having. Old story, actually, more like just another episode of it. Truthfully this thing really ruined my holiday mood. I don't want it and I'm tired, and I don't know how to fix it back or what should I do to end this. Forever.

But let's move on!
One more thing before I end this random (and pointless? Lol I'm bored!) post, I want to share these pictures of 2NE1 for 1st Look magazine! I just found these on their Facebook. And they look gorgeous as usual! My fierce queens are fierce!

Also check out their editorial photos for W Korea Magazine in Cannes, France!
