I Am Mugler

Big Bang's leader, G-Dragon, has worked together with Nicola Formichetti (also known as Lady Gaga's stylist) to produce a runway music for Mugler's fashion show couple days ago in Paris Fashion Week. Here is the clip.

I'm just going to be honest here. (I was also being honest in Tumblr about it, but that's more like me ranting about stuffs(?) and it's so rambly and not to the point and could be misinterpreted. This is why I still stick to this blog for writing purpose because I write things nicer and more organized here, don't know why.)

Bad things first. To be honest the lyrics is just meh. I'm sorry as much as I adore him, I can't let it pass, and I can't take this song seriously (or maybe it's supposedly not to be taken seriously, but save it for later talks). Unfortunately, this is not for my likings. This is too strong for me. When I said it to someone last night on Tumblr, she's surprised that I thought that way. So I categorized myself as a minor since I guess there are a lot of people who think that's not too strong or strange.

As a girl who's raised in a rather conserved society, I do think that is too strong. When I first listened to it I was shocked, but then laughing like crazy. I mean that whispers?! Seriously GD you whisper?! I couldn't get the exact things that he said in that song at the first time so I repeated it, and I was like 'okay wow oppa wow'. And I was thinking "Did I just hear f*ck?" "Is that WOOSH or PUSS". And I thought I had hearing problems but I didn't. I looked at the exact lyrics and that 'wow' feeling turned into 'WOW'.

It's just... it's too explicit. Like the whole song is full of "f*ck yo I don't give a sh*t". I know that it's rather considered as 'normal' considering the fact that it's for runway show where manners is definitely not something to be cared about in the first place. Listening to it is one thing, I can let it go, but when it's written... suddenly that kind of turning alive. Like, it's screaming to your face. There is this huge different between putting some curse words to a song and putting curse words as a whole song. And it's very uncomfortable for me to read it. And I know there are a lot of explicit western songs being promoted and I'm not fond of them either. That's just not for my likings.

I'm also quite disappointed, because I finally found something that I really, really dislike from GD, which is this song. Meh. But me saying this, doesn't mean that I hate him or what. I know that it's for fashion show, not for his promotion or Big Bang. I know he would NEVER release something like this in Korea or Japan or wheresoever for promotion purpose. But to be honest, I was kind of worried about /public/ reaction about this, because although this is not meant for public, they must be knowing this. I was afraid that it's like some free baits for people (specifically haters) being harsh to him again. But he himself said that he didn't give a f*ck, so why should I. And I don't judge him based on this lyrics because aside from the purpose of this song, he's already well known as a naughty naughty and then so what. His parents are so proud of him, so who am I to judge?

And then the good things! I must admit that, although I think it's weird, I like the beat, this is the kind of beat that makes you nodding your head! This is like, G-Dragon style. And I admit that I was feeling so proud when it's being shown:

Yeah. G-Dragon is not your little idol. He's out of your reach.

I admit that this song fits the show perfectly. Like, it represents Mugler so well. It means that he knew who's the client, what were they up to. And he successfully gave them a song that match the collections of Mugler. He satisified his clients. I praise him for this! And yes, because this is for fashion show only, I don't think it's for to be taken seriously. I mean, not for your daily song. And the lyrics is not something to be over analyzed hahah.

And I want to say that as die-hard you are as a fan, it's okay to dislike something from your idols. Dislike the song doesn't mean you also dislike anything else. By being a fan, it doesn't mean you have to like everything come from them and see them as gold, or blindly follow everything they do. In this case, whether it's for fashion show only, if some don't like it, then let them be. There's no need to continuously tell them that "It's for fashion show!" or "Do you expect love songs for runway?" or things like that. No need to force them to like it.

And some people say that he's going too far. That he's trying so hard not to becoming 'your only little idol star'. To be honest I do think that he's maybe trying too hard. Or maybe it's just because I don't like this kind of stuff. And again this song is only a fashion song so maybe he's not trying to do anything at all and it's just me who take it too far.

In conclusion, I dislike the song (the lyrics to be exact, I don't even dare to reblog it) but also am feeling so damn proud of him. Fashion show is a big thing, you know, and he just raised his standard way above anyone else in the industry.

Anyway, GD is currently in London and no one knows exactly what's he doing there. Like a ninja.
