Hi again! (I have about three weeks of free time before school starts again, so here I am, productively updating my blog.) Last night I thought about a lot of things.. including what major I would take next year. There are four options: Industrial Engineering (TI), Chemical Engineering (TK), Engineering Physics (FT), and Engineering Management (MRI). My first option was TI. But after several short meetings with the lecturers and seniors from each majors and looking at the syllabus, I'm getting confused.
FTI, is my first choice because I do have interest in all majors. But, to be very honest, TK was my last option, because I reaaaallly didn't like chemistry (well, I still do) and I didn't want to learn chemistry deeper. I didn't have any single thought about taking TK! But after I figured out that there are A LOT of physics in TK and not so much chemistry... somehow I feel like TK suits me better than TI.
I like and have interest in physics. I prefer to wake up all night long studying physics rather than studying anything else. I want to be an engineer because I like physics. I only took one subject for A Level last year, and that's physics. And for the sake of that exam I spent around three months studying only physics. (And alhamdulillah my hard work were paid off, I got satisfying grade!)
Nah, based on my passion for physics... I feel like TI is quite not-me-ish. Simply because there are only a few physics on the syllabus. Well, actually I liked TI and I wanted it so bad because in TI we also learn about other things: management, industrial psychology, etc; but now I feel like that's not me. I want to learn physics more :(
But why TK? Why not FT if you like physics so much, Rizk?
Well, do I really physics that much? I'm still not sure. Physics is difficult :( It's so interesting but damn it's difficult! Oh wait, not difficult, let's rephrase it. Physics is challenging. Nah, that's correct. Sometimes it's too challenging that I feel like 'NO I HATE YOU PHYSICS!'. Thank God I always have my father who's always willing to help me (even up till midnight, thank you!!) and my teachers in high school. But it's gonna be difficult for me to ask them questions now in college :(
FT is so physics. The syllabus is full of physics. There are some subjects that really catch my attention, like nanotechnology, quantum physics, material physics... But there are a lot of subjects that I really want to avoid from the start, everything involving electricity and electromagnetism. Both are... my weakness. As much as I like physics, I just want to avoid those two subjects. BUT. I don't mind learning all of it if I must :D
Nah, in TK, which first I assumed would consist of so many chemistry, actually consists a lot more physics. And there's no electricity/electromagnetism!!! All the subjects are what I like: thermophysics, mechanical fluid... I like physics, but I'm also picky, and it turns out that syllabus of TK reaaaallly attracts me.
I have a year to think carefully about it. Whatever I'm gonna choose next year, I have to get goood grades during TPB! Wish me luck!
